Challenge Matches 2026

The professional team has long enjoyed competing against Huntercombe members. There are many opportunities throughout the year for members to play in these matches. Details and dates for Pro Challenge Matches and Captain/Pro Challenge Matches can be found below, with results updated regularly.

Pro Challenge Games

Foursomes Matches against the Professionals are played on Thursdays at 4.15pm.

Fee: £30, payable per head if game is won by the Pro Team. No fee payable if challengers half or win the match.

Format: 18 holes foursomes match play. The Pro challenge games are open to men, women or mixed pairs.

Captains / Pro Challenge Matches 2026

Ian Roberts will be partnering this years captains Ian Wood-Smith and Jane Castle, for friendly yet competitive foursomes matches. The challengers with the greatest margin of victory win the Thompson Salvers.

Format: 18 holes foursomes match play. Open to men, women or mixed pairs.

Fee: £25 per challenger payable to the Captains Charity.
